Resorts World Sentosa took two awards at the annual IAAPA Brass Ring Awards held on 15 November 2017.
Presented by International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), this award – considered the Oscars of theme park entertainment – recognises excellence in amusement parks, water parks, zoos, aquariums, museums, family entertainment centres, and suppliers from around the world.
Last year HHN6’s March of the Dead won “Most Creative Halloween Haunt, Show or Experience”, beating other finalists, Universal Studios Japan’s Trauma 2 and Ocean Park’s Project Deathway.
Taryn De Luca won “Best Female Performer” for her great performance in the many roles she held in Universal Studios Singapore. She is one of the park’s Mel’s Dinettes, and had also played the roles of Christmas’s Ice Queen, Halloween’s Lady Death, and Easter’s Bride, amongst others. She joined Universal Studios Singapore in 2015.
There were also finalists in two categories: Jack’s Recurring Nightmare Circus in “Best Theatrical Production (annual attendance more than 3 mil)” and A Date With Marilyn in “Best Atmosphere/Street Entertainment”. These were eventually won by Universal Studios Japan (USJ), making them the second of three parks with two awards that night. The only other park with two awards was Sea World Orlando.
Big congratulations to the team and winners. Get the full list of the results here.
